Bangalore, November 15, 2013: Employees of Airbus and QuEST Global struck a chord with students of A. Narayanapura Govt Model Primary School located near the Krishnarajapuram Railway Station by volunteering for several developmental works to improve the infrastructure of the school. QuEST Global teamed up along with Airbus employees, who had travelled all the way from various parts of Europe to sweat it out for the students involving themselves in various efforts over a period of one week:

Building a boundary wall

Set up drinking water facility and rain water harvesting

Tree planting around the boundary wall

Cleaning of the school and its surroundings

To culminate the week long social responsibility project, Airbus and QuEST Global volunteers and leadership handed over sports kits to students.

Speaking at the occasion Dr. Ajay Prabhu – COO, QuEST Global quips, “QuEST Global is a 16 year old company. We want to build, a company that outlives us and builds the future for many to come. It is my belief, based on my personal life experiences that, education plays a critical role in shaping communities and their people. We are taking baby steps in engineering a step change for the betterment of the communities in which we grew up and those in which we live today. We have currently adopted some schools and through such sustained initiatives over a period of time, we hope to create significant impact.”

The school currently houses up to 8th standard and around 450 students with an opportunity to enrol more children from neighbouring areas.

Also notable is the fact that these employees who are involved in the project have adopted the school to contribute in multiple ways over time. Earlier in the year, QuEST Bangalore employees joined the children of Narayanapura Government Model Primary School to celebrate Teachers’ Day, wherein students were primed and encouraged to deliver a speech demonstrating their gratitude to their teachers. In other efforts QuEST employees donated furniture to the school, apart from many of them coming forward to mentor these children in various subjects and life skills.

On yet another occasion at the A Narayanapura Government Model Primary School, employees of QuEST celebrated the ‘Joy of Giving week’ with the children. Here QuEST Global employees donated stationery to the school to celebrate the occasion which culminated with a mentoring talk organised for the kids along with a drawing competition and prize distribution.
